Investing In You. What Does That Mean?

Would You Buy Stock In You?

To take stock in yourself, you have to take stock of yourself.  It is my hope that the phrase, "Investing In You", will become a very important phrase to you, and one you'll remember to put into action on a daily basis.   As with any investment, you need to educate yourself about what it is you want to invest in. In this case it's You. A smart investor researches an investment opportunity to determine it's ability to deliver the desired "Return On Iinvestment" (ROI).

In the case of investing in a company you have to ask yourself: What is it the company does? What is their product? What kind of leadership does this "Company" have. Does the leadership have the potential to get the company through rough times and numerous other questions. But we're talking about investing in you.   How do you find out all the things you need to know about an investment in YOU before you invest?

Researching Your Investment In You!

There are numerous places on the Net to find FREE tools that will help you in your efforts to learn more about yourself.  Just GOOGLE "Free Personality Test or check out this Free Personality Test, or this Free Career Aptitude Test for starters.   None of these tests are perfect.  But you can use test's like these to get yourself thinking about who you really are and what you really enjoy doing and want to do.   You don't have to buy anything on any of the sites I refer you to.   My purpose here is to introduce you to some FREE tools that will get you THINKING about what you REALLY want, and who your wanting to investment in.  You!.

Okay, you've done your research. Is the investment worth it?

Now that you've determined what kind of career you will like and feel you can be really good at, you need to determine whether or not you think you can/will do what it will take to provide the ROI you desire.   This is a question only you can answer. However, I contend that if you REALLY want to, you can and will. Still, the question does come down to whether or not you think you are worth doing whatever it takes to reach your goals and make your dreams come true.

Make it A Motto

"Investing in me" had to become a motto of mine, just as it had with many of my mentors. And, speaking of mentors; investing my time (And yes some money), into learning from those who had proven their worth to themselves, was one of the investments I made in made myself.

I knew that there was more for me in life than the 9 to 5 routine and the amount of money I was making.  I really didn't have much control over what was going on with my income, when I had free time, what my income potential could be, or anything else of that really mattered.  (Sound familiar?)  So once I determined I was worth the investment, I made up my mind to learn all I could from those that had already seen significant returns on investment's in themselves.  Successful Entrepreneurs!

I subscribed to their newsletters, attended seminars, training session and yes, I paid for "Personal 1 on 1 Coaching". My car was a traveling university of the CD's I listened to all the time. Every minute I could realistically afford, was invested in learning from those that had accomplished what I wanted to.   Soon, the results started to show returns on my investment.   Like any worthwhile investment does, those investments in myself helped me to see there were other avenues opening up for me, and how I could capitalize on them.

Big Dreams or Big Doubts

You only have to stay a product of your environment until you decide you are responsible for your own destiny, and do something to make your own destiny what you want it to be.

Having the ability to dream big requires a certain attitude. Many people have that attitude naturally when they're young, but most have that attitude tempered out of them when people, (Parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, friends and spouses), who tell them to stop wasting their time going after their dreams.   Or, 'You need to be more down to earth and just accept what life deals you.'  When most people hear things like that enough, from people the trust, they tend accept it as truth. Especially if it is drummed into them.   So they settle for mediocre lives and abandon their dreams of success. The moment they start doubting they can make their dreams come true, they start accepting mediocrity.

Are You Worth It To You?

So the questions are: (1) Do you think you worth investing in? and (2) If yes, are you willing to make the kind of investment in you that will yield the return you desire? ? ? ? OR . . . . MAKING YOUR DREAMS COMING TRUE!   If you doubt you can have your dreams and desires, how much do you think you will you actually be willing to invest in yourself?   Remember; You are like any other kind of investment; you put nothing in, you get nothing out.

Let's Say You Think You Are Worth It

Once you have decided what you want to do, to get yourself and your family what you think you deserve, there will be a lot of different ways to go about getting it. After you determine the way you want to go about getting what you want, you just have to "Do It".   Right?   But remember, there may be many times you will have to exercise the process of "Just Doing It", to see whether or not your initial particular plan will work. Sometimes you have to find out what doesn't work in order to find out what does. Doing that IS A BIG PART OF THE PROCESS! But at the same time, YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO STOP TRYING!

Unfortunately many people get discouraged and just loose sight of their dreams all together. Fortunately there are some of those, that maintain a glimmer of hope and just need a helping hand to lift them up out of their discouragement.

Helping You Help Yourself

Here's where I hope to help a lot of people. With people who have gotten discouraged with their efforts to invest in themselves because it hasn't paid off yet.

I want to help you to get you involved again with investing in yourself. Initially at a level of investing in yourself that you feel you can handle, and without it costing you anything except the time it takes to learn, and the effort it takes to take action on what you've learned.   If you believe you are worth enough to take your initial returns, (What you've learned), and re-investing those returns into efforts to make some actual profits, the results should be pretty amazing.

So Are You Worth The Investment?

I think you are. In fact I know you are. But then I'm not the one that needs to be convinced you're worth the investment.

I challenge you to do the research and find out what it is you really like to do and decide what may be the best way to do what ever it is to make YOUR dreams come true. Then learn from those that have done it their way successfully, and apply some of that knowledge to your plan, for your future, and the future of your family.
